Your training in and use of Microsoft® Office AccessTM 2016 has provided you with a solid foundation in the basic and intermediate skills of working in AccessTM 2016. You have worked with the various Access objects, such as tables, queries, forms, and reports. In this course, you will extend your knowledge into some of the more specialized and advanced capabilities of Access by structuring existing data, writing advanced queries, working with macros, enhancing forms and reports, and maintaining a database.

Who is this course for?

This course is for the individual whose job responsibilities include working with related tables; creating advanced queries, forms, and reports; writing macros to automate common tasks; and performing general database maintenance

What are the pre-requisites for this course?

  • Microsoft® Office AccessTM 2013: Basic
  • Microsoft® Office AccessTM 2013: Intermediate


Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Create complex Access databases.
  • Write advanced queries.
  • Work with macros.
  • Perform database maintenance.

  • Creating macros to provide user interaction
  • Creating macros that require user input
  • Creating the Auto Keys and Auto Exec macros
  • Creating macros for data transfer


Unit 5: Importing, exporting, and linking

  • Importing objects
  • Exporting objects
  • Interacting with XML documents
  • Linking Access objects

Unit 6: Database management

  • Optimizing resources Protecting databases
