This programme assists learners to develop and submit Workplace Skills Plans, Annual Training Reports, conduct skills audits, coordinate training interventions and to implement a Quality Management system for Education, Training and Development within an organisation. This skills programmes forms part of Qualification SAQA ID 50334 National Certificate: Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices, Level 5.

Pre-requisites

  • NQF Level 4/Grade 12 certificate
  • Completed Assessor training (115753) recommended
  • Completed Moderator training (115759) recommended

Objectives

The training would benefit:

  • line managers responsible for training,
  • educators and developers of training staff,
  • members of Training or Skills Development Committees,
  • HR, IR and HRD managers,
  • anyone required to develop Workplace Skills Plans and reports for Setas,
  • and anyone involved in delivery of learning interventions ranging from learnerships to short learning interventions to close skills gaps

(Those persons who have been working as SDF’s for less than a year and thus have not gone through the entire process, will also benefit from this programme. We will assist you to understand the principles and theory and to present your evidence of competence for assessment purposes.)

Course contents

 

  • Dealing with the transformation taking place in the business environment and the demands this places on skills development
  • An understanding of the relevant legislation governing Skills Development including the Skills Development Act, Employment Equity Act and relevant legislation
  • An understanding of the challenges facing the Skills Development Facilitator in the organisation including:
  • The roles of the SDF in an organisational context
  • Compiling a Workplace Skills Plan and Skills Reports
  • Promoting a learning culture in an organisation
  • Co-ordinate skills development activities
  • Understand the issue of Return on Investment in skills development
  • The capability to prepare an Annual Training Report
  • The capacity to appreciate and conduct effective skills development administration and auditing
  • Understand the strategic alignment of skills development against National and Organisational goals and objectives
